My Sherona,

The Knack

What drives you to pedal for B4B? B4B's goals of encouraging youth mentoring across the country is what makes the very difficult and grueling bike tour worth it. As a team, we've already experienced adversity, but remembering the reason we are biking this far makes it easy to recover.

Who was your coach growing up? Sean Blair was actually my soccer coach growing up who had the biggest impression on me. He coached me for about 10 years and taught me so much about not only soccer, but how to become a coach and educator myself.

What are you most excited for this summer? I'm most excited about the people we meet and experiencing the country from a cyclist's perspective, which is much different from a driver's perspective. Oh, and baseball games in all of the best cities!

What talents to do you bring to the team? I bring a talent for keeping everyone level-headed and making sure we are on-time to everything!

How do you hope B4B will impact people? I hope B4B is able to encourage people to get out there and be active. Be active mentoring young people. Be active riding your bike. And be active getting outdoors and enjoying life.

What is your favorite baseball memory? My favorite team hasn't made the playoffs since I was 1 year old, so unfortunately I don't have any awesome Royals World Series stories. But I was lucky enough to go to game 2 of the 1997 World Series in Florida with the Marlins playing the Indians. Very cool thing for a 13 year old flying by himself for the first time to go to the game with family in Florida who knew I was a HUGE baseball fan. The thing I remember most was all of the camera flashes at the first pitch of the game. It seemed like all 67,000 people in the stadium took a picture at the same time and lit up like fireworks. Very cool experience, and that's what I hope the kids we go to games with will experience as well.

Meet the rest of the team!
